Fear of Doubt

I live with him,

She lives with me,

It seems that,

It will always be.

He puts me down,

To him unworthy,

I can’t escape,

His mocking churly.

She puts it down,

To protection,

The things she tells me,

Are my reflection.

I live with him,

His name is Doubt,

She lives with me,

She’s Fear she shouts.

I want to leave,

Be on my own,

Find a quiet mind,

A nicer home.

But every place,

That I settle down,

Doubt and Fear,

Soon come round.

I feed them thoughts,

Of kindness true,

And give them lots,

Of things to do.

Then on their own,

They silent be,

And for a while,

No trouble be.

I’ve learnt that both,

Without, I’m Scared

They stay with me,

For troubles shared.

I live with him,

She lives with me,

When things are good,

We happy are three.
