Through the woods

The quietness of
Trees disturbed,
As lots of barking dogs,
Are heard.
Beyond the trees,
There’s rain I hear,
It’s nice and dry,
Walking in here.
By the river,
Down the path,
The owners of the dogs,
Walk past.
“Good morning.
It’s a lovely day.”
The people passing,
They will say.
The dogs wag tails,
They sniff and bow,
They want a treat,
And want it now.
We reach the fence,
And turn around,
Through the woods,
To the path we found.
A walk in the woods,
To start the day,
Always good,
To start that way.
